Our Family Partners and Family Navigators understand your needs. Each member of these Family Teams is a parent or caregiver of a child who has received services within the mental health, substance abuse or intellectual/developmental disability service system. Our Family Partners and Family Navigators can connect you with community resources and support. This includes building self-advocacy skills, finding community resources, establishing community relationships and inspiring hope through shared personal experiences.
- Provide training, education and coaching to promote System of Care values and principles to community and professional stakeholders
- Help families prepare for Child and Family Team meetings, as well as follow up with families after meetings to connect them with the services they need.
- Lead trainings that promote individual and family strengths (such as Wellness Recovery Action Plan®), encourage person-centered thinking and promote programs that support family voice.
- Share personal experiences of navigating the child service system from a family perspective.
Child and Family Team meetings bring the community and family members together to create a plan that works for the child/youth and their family. The plan builds on the child/youth and family’s strengths and addresses their needs, desires and dreams.
