In the Spotlight: NC ABLE Savings accounts for those with disabilities
NC ABLE savings account funds can be used to pay for a wide variety of qualified disability expenses (QDEs) including rent & housing, transportation, education, employment training and supports, assistive technology, and more.
“An important part of today is for these folks to know they’re not invisible and they’re not penalized for trying to do better in their life,” said North Carolina’s newly elected state treasurer, Dale Folwell.
He is referring to a new tax-free investment program to assist people with disabilities without jeopardizing their federal Social Security benefits that recently opened in North Carolina and 12 other states.
The NC ABLE website is live and qualified participants can apply now! Enrollment takes only a few minutes and is completed online or by calling 888-609-8915, M-F 8am-5pm.
