Mental Health First Aid: Adult

Vaya Health and Buncombe County Health and Human Services are partnering together to offer a FREE Mental Health First Aid training for the community.

Mental Health First Aid will teach you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

This 8- hour training will give you the skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use concern or crisis by connecting them to appropriate care. 

Mental Health First Aid covers ways to combat stigma, de-escalate a crisis, and how to reach out and support someone who may be having thoughts of suicide.
