Vaya Health Releases Critical Resources in Preparation for “Adventure Awaits” Recruitment Campaign Kick-off

In preparation for its campaign launch, Vaya Health is proud to share a sneak-peak at its upcoming “Adventure Awaits” initiative, a word-of-mouth foster parent recruitment campaign set to begin in mid-January.

In partnership with private child-placing agencies, local DSS offices within Vaya’s catchment and Benchmarks, Vaya Health has developed a campaign toolkit with the hopes of it being a resource of information, and strategies and tactics to help address the critical need facing North Carolina’s foster care system. The initiative is designed to accommodate and support families interested in both Family Foster (DSS) and Therapeutic Foster Care.

As local agencies face a record-low shortage of foster care parents, it became evident through Vaya’s Pathways to Permanency Project that additional resources were needed in local communities to help combat the growing shortage across the state.  “Adventure Awaits” aims to demonstrate to those who’ve never thought about the rewarding nature of fostering a child and highlight the positive influence they can have in their communities through this program.

Developed with education as a top priority, the “Adventure Awaits” campaign aims to equip local DSS offices and private child-placing agencies with a variety of outreach materials- educating community members on the vital need and encouraging them to learn more about what it means to become a foster parent.

The outreach materials feature captivating personal stories from current foster parents and families that have been greatly impacted by the foster care system- whether serving as a foster care parent or as a continued advocate for the overall community.
